Ask before you sign

  1. Speak to at least 3 franchisees who have run an outlet for 2+ years and see their actual monthly sales and profit — a franchisor making money doesn't mean its franchisees do.
  2. Ask for the one-time franchise fee in writing, and whether any part is refundable.
  3. Ask for the royalty and any marketing-fund fee, and how they're calculated (on sales or profit).

Franchise terms checked against YLG's official franchise page on 10 Oct 2026. Figures marked * aren't published by the brand — they come from other published sources or our own estimate, and aren't verified.

Our Estimates

FranchiseChuno estimate

YLG Salon doesn't publish these, so here is our best read of the market and how we got there. They are our estimates, not the brand's figures — use them to plan, then confirm the real numbers in writing.

  • Rough sales per YLG salon

    ₹5–7 L a month*

R&R Salons reported ₹43 Cr revenue in FY25 (filings via Tracxn). Spread over the about 52 salons on its locator that is about ₹6.9 L a month per salon, but that revenue also includes product sales, the academy and franchise income, and some salons are franchised, so we put a typical salon at ₹5–7 L a month. This is our estimate, not YLG's figure, and says nothing about profit.

What YLG Salon Says You Can Earn

Brand claim

YLG Salon's own claim — no evidence given. Figures are "up to" — the best case, not the typical outlet. These are not FranchiseChuno's estimates or a promise of earnings; ask existing franchisees what they actually make.

PaybackMonths until cumulative profit equals what you invested.
up to 18 months

YLG's franchise page says return on investment 'can be seen as soon as 18 months' and that it varies with the city, the exact location and the money invested. We read this as a best-case payback. YLG publishes no sales, margin or profit figure for a franchised salon.

About the Brand

Brand USP

A Bengaluru salon chain started in 2008 by Rahul and Vaijayanti Bhalchandra, with its own training arm (YLG Institut); in 2012 it planned over 200 company-owned salons, and it now invites franchisees.

HeadquartersBengaluru, Karnataka (registered office in Kodihalli, off Old Airport Road)
YLG ('You Look Great') is a hair, skin and beauty salon chain aimed mainly at women, run by R&R Salons Pvt Ltd of Bengaluru. Founders Rahul and Vaijayanti Bhalchandra started the company in 2008 and opened the first salon off Old Airport Road, Bengaluru, in 2009; Helion Venture Partners and Everstone Capital invested, and at the 2012 round the chain had 20 salons and planned 200 company-owned ones. Its own salon locator lists 52 salons (our count, 10 Oct 2026): 43 in Bengaluru, 4 in Chennai, 3 in Mysuru and one each in Gurugram and Vijayapura. The company's own pages give different totals (54, 57 and 'over 61'), and the About page still names Hyderabad, where the locator shows no salon. Filings show R&R Salons at ₹43 Cr revenue and ₹98 L profit in FY25, with revenue flat on the year but down about 8% a year on average over five years. The franchise is a full salon of 750–1,500 sq ft, owned or rented, on the ground or first floor of a market area with 20–40 ft of frontage, in a town of at least 3 lakh people. YLG's application form offers one investment band, ₹30–35 L, and targets cities in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Maharashtra. YLG says it sets up the salon end to end, trains and certifies the staff through YLG Institut and supplies the products, and that the investment can pay back 'as soon as 18 months', depending on location. It does not publish a franchise fee, royalty or revenue share, contract length, territory, or any sales or profit figure for a salon. What to watch: the ₹30–35 L band comes with no breakdown, and a second form hidden in the page's code lists ₹65–75 L and ₹75 L+, so get the full cost in writing. The 18-month payback is the brand's best case, with no figures behind it. Almost every salon on the locator is in YLG's home markets, and the brand does not say how many are franchised. On a consumer-complaints site, 107 of 124 complaints were marked unresolved (May 2026), many about prepaid salon cards and balances that customers could not use or move. The 'YLG Salon' Class 44 trademark is recorded in the name of an LLP (R And R Salons Limited Liability Partnership, same Old Airport Road address), not the private company whose accounts we show, so ask who licenses the mark to franchisees. We found no court case involving R&R Salons. The company's profit is its own and says nothing about what a franchised salon earns; check real numbers with existing YLG franchisees.

Why invest in YLG Salon?

- YLG's franchise form lists a ₹30–35 L investment band for a 750–1,500 sq ft salon in a town of 3 lakh+ people (Oct 2026) - Its own salon locator lists 52 salons, 43 of them in Bengaluru (our count, 10 Oct 2026) - R&R Salons Pvt Ltd, the company behind YLG, reported ₹43 Cr revenue and ₹98 L profit in FY25 — franchisor figures, not salon earnings

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the total investment for a YLG Salon franchise?

The page does not say what that covers (franchise fee, fit-out, equipment, opening stock, rent deposit) or whether GST is extra, so we treat it as partial. A second form in the page's code, hidden on every device, lists ₹65–75 L and ₹75 L+ bands.
How long does YLG Salon say it takes to recover the investment?
YLG Salon states a payback of 18 months — the time for cumulative profit to equal the initial investment, as the brand claims it.
What training does YLG Salon provide?
YLG says every hair stylist and beauty therapist in a franchised salon is trained and certified in all its services, the YLG way, through its training arm YLG Institut (franchise page).
