- Speak to at least 3 franchisees who have run an outlet for 2+ years and see their actual monthly sales and profit — a franchisor making money doesn't mean its franchisees do.
- Ask for the one-time franchise fee in writing, and whether any part is refundable.
- Ask for the royalty and any marketing-fund fee, and how they're calculated (on sales or profit).

NCLT Mumbai: oppression found on both sides; promoter group ordered out at Rs 33 a share (Feb 2026)
As reported by LiveLaw Biz (25 Feb 2026; the order text could not be read and no second report was found), the tribunal found the promoter's financial acts oppressive and the RBPL group's board changes oppressive, held joint management unworkable, and ordered the promoter group and Greenfield Investments to exit at Rs 33 a share (adjustable), leaving the RBPL group in effective control. The NCLAT listed appeals by parties on both sides for admission on 5 Oct 2026; the outcome was not found. Who controls the company may change.

Reports: about 32 FIRs against the brand's founder and his son over an alleged investment scheme (Oct-Nov 2025)
Sambhal police allege the brand's founder, his son and another person drew about 150 people into 'Follicle Global Company' with promised returns of 50-75% via crypto; outlets differ on the FIR count (32 or 33), per-investor sums and total loss (Rs 5-7 crore to at least Rs 7 crore). The Allahabad High Court (10 Nov 2025) declined to quash the FIR it examined but barred coercive action until a chargesheet; their counsel argued the allegations were exaggerated. Allegations only; none of the reports names the salon company. Later status not found.
