About the Brand

Brand USP

London barber and perfumer dating to 1805, run in India by Lloyds Luxuries under a master franchise valid to 2043.

Parent CompanyLloyds Luxuries Ltd (Indian master franchisee; brand owned by Truefitt & Hill (Gentlemen's Grooming) Ltd, UK)
Franchising Since2013
HeadquartersMumbai (Lloyds Luxuries Ltd, Indian master franchisee); brand owner in London
Truefitt & Hill is a London barber and perfumer that traces its history to 1805. In India the brand is run by Lloyds Luxuries Ltd, a Mumbai company listed on NSE's SME platform, which signed a master franchise in October 2013 that its prospectus says now runs to 2043 and covers India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Vietnam, Myanmar and Bangladesh. Business Standard reported the first Indian shop opening on Linking Road, Khar, in June 2014 (the prospectus dates the start of operations to 2013). Its store locator lists 38 barbershops in India (4 Oct 2026) — 12 in Mumbai and Thane, 4 in Delhi, 4 in Bengaluru, 3 in Gurugram and others in Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Guwahati, Bhubaneswar, Indore and Surat — plus grooming counters in hotels and Nykaa Luxe stores. In March 2022 it ran 14 shops itself and 12 through sub-franchisees. Franchising works as a sub-franchise from Lloyds Luxuries: the partner pays an initial fee and an ongoing royalty per shop and bears the fit-out, equipment, stock, staff and working capital. Neither the fee nor the royalty rate is published, and the franchise page offers only an enquiry form. Lloyds' 2022 prospectus priced the fit-out of a typical 1,000 sq ft company-owned shop at about ₹60 L including GST (six imported barber chairs ₹19.6 L, interiors and services ₹38.6 L). FranchiseChuno estimates ₹75 L–₹1 Cr* all-in before the fee and rent deposit. What to watch: Lloyds Luxuries has lost money in every year on record — ₹9.2 Cr in FY22, ₹4.3 Cr in FY23, ₹8.0 Cr in FY24 and ₹6.7 Cr in FY25 — and its FY26 AGM notice reports a pre-tax loss of ₹35.1 Cr on ₹60.8 Cr total income, blamed on capital spending. Its AGM notices have forecast profits that did not come: a ₹1.4 Cr profit for FY25 (actual: ₹6.7 Cr loss) and ₹0.9 Cr for FY26 (actual: ₹35.1 Cr pre-tax loss), so treat its FY27 forecast with caution. These are franchisor figures and say nothing about a shop's earnings. Its sub-franchise income is small (₹1.1 Cr in fees and royalty in FY22). The rights depend on a master agreement the prospectus says can end early, and the brand itself belongs to the UK owner. Ask for the fee, royalty, product-purchase rules and exit terms in writing and talk to existing sub-franchisees.

Why invest in Truefitt & Hill?

- Its store locator lists 38 Truefitt & Hill barbershops in 17 Indian cities (Oct 2026), plus counters in Taj, ITC and Nykaa Luxe outlets. - Lloyds Luxuries, the listed Indian master franchisee, holds the rights to 2043 for India and six other Asian countries and sub-franchises shops for an initial fee plus royalty. - Its 2022 prospectus put the fit-out of a 1,000 sq ft company-owned barbershop at about ₹60 L, including six imported barber chairs.
