Ask before you sign

  1. Speak to at least 3 franchisees who have run an outlet for 2+ years and see their actual monthly sales and profit — a franchisor making money doesn't mean its franchisees do.
  2. Ask for the one-time franchise fee in writing, and whether any part is refundable.
  3. Ask for the royalty and any marketing-fund fee, and how they're calculated (on sales or profit).

About the Brand

Brand USP

A Delhi-born unisex salon chain (since 1989) that franchises full-size salons at ₹1–1.5 Cr on a nine-year agreement with an automatic right to renew.

HeadquartersKarol Bagh, New Delhi
Looks Salon is a unisex hair and beauty salon chain founded in Delhi in 1989 by Sanjay Dutta, with its head office in Karol Bagh; the company behind it, Looks Salon Pvt Ltd, was incorporated in 2002. Its booking and salon-finder lists name 233 salon locations across 62 cities (our count, 4 Oct 2026), 130 of them in Delhi NCR. The brand's own outlet claims vary from page to page (95+, 118+ and 162 on different pages); its CEO, Samir Srivastav, told BW Businessworld in Mar 2026 that the chain had crossed 250 salons in 55 cities and had about ₹150 Cr in revenue. Filings show Looks Salon Pvt Ltd at ₹140 Cr revenue and ₹4.6 Cr profit in FY25, with profit down about 42% on the year. The franchise is a full-size salon. Looks Salon's FAQ puts the investment at ₹1–1.5 Cr (about ₹1.25 Cr as its working figure), including a one-time upfront franchise fee whose amount it does not state. The agreement runs nine years with an automatic right to renew for a franchisee who has kept to its terms, and Looks allows about four months to open a new-build salon. Any co-investor must be approved by Looks. It does not publish its royalty or revenue share, the fee amount, the salon size it expects, or any figure for what a salon earns. What to watch: the investment figure has been unchanged on its FAQ since at least Dec 2017, and the FAQ's opening line still names 'essensuals', a different salon brand, so it looks adapted from another chain's FAQ — ask for current terms in writing. The franchise page still talks about reaching 150 salons 'within 2020'. In 2024 the Delhi High Court appointed an arbitrator in Looks's claim that a franchisee (HL Residency) had stopped paying under a 2018 franchise agreement, and in Sep 2026 a Bengaluru commercial court ordered Looks to pay a L'Oréal stockist about ₹10.7 L for unpaid supplies, in a case Looks did not defend. The company profit is its own and says nothing about what a salon earns; check real numbers with existing franchisees.

Why invest in Looks Salon?

- Looks Salon's franchise FAQ states the investment (₹1–1.5 Cr, fee included), a nine-year agreement and an automatic right to renew for franchisees within the terms. - Its booking and salon-finder lists name 233 salon locations across 62 cities (4 Oct 2026); the CEO told BW Businessworld in Mar 2026 the chain had crossed 250 salons in 55 cities. - Looks Salon Pvt Ltd reported ₹140 Cr revenue and ₹4.6 Cr profit in FY25 — franchisor figures, not salon earnings.
