About the Brand

Brand USP

A budget and mid-market hotel brand that signs owners under franchise-style, management-contract and revenue-share models, with 848 hotel pages in its sitemap on 31 Oct 2026.

HeadquartersBengaluru, Karnataka
Treebo Hotels is a Bengaluru-based budget and mid-market hotel chain run by Treebo Hospitality Ventures (the name printed on its owner page). It sells rooms through its own site and apps and signs hotel owners onto its brands (Treebo, Treebo Premium, Itsy and Medalio, per its development page, plus some Accor-licensed brands). Its owner page lists three commercial models: a franchise-style model (it calls it 'Manchising') where the owner runs the hotel, Treebo assigns an Area General Manager and handles revenue management and distribution, and the owner pays a brand royalty and a distribution fee; a management contract where Treebo runs daily operations for a percentage of revenue and profit; and a revenue share where Treebo takes full control and pays the owner a pre-agreed percentage of room and F&B revenue. It takes built hotels (conversions), bare-shell or under-construction buildings, and land. Treebo publishes no investment, fee, royalty or percentage for any of the three models, so FranchiseChuno shows no investment figure. On 31 Oct 2026 the page claimed 1,000+ hotels, 17,000+ keys and 120+ cities; we counted 848 hotel pages in its sitemap across 131 city pages, and its home page says 849+ hotels in 254+ cities. Venture Intelligence, citing the company, reports about Rs 128 Cr operating income and about Rs 20 Cr net loss for FY25 (approximate); the FY24 figures above are from filed accounts. Revenue from operations was Rs 109 Cr in FY24, up 22.5%, with a net loss of Rs 28 Cr and accumulated losses of Rs 488 Cr (Entrackr, from filed accounts). What to watch: no fee or revenue-share rate, contract length or exit terms are published, so ask for the draft agreement and the P&L of two or three current partners before committing. The company is loss-making, laid off staff in 2019 (reports vary between about 50 and 120 people; The News Minute, citing the Economic Times, linked it to failed funding, while Entrackr cited a focus on profitability), and was a complainant in a Competition Commission of India case against MakeMyTrip and OYO, where an interim order in March 2021 told MakeMyTrip to relist Treebo; we did not find the final outcome. Accor, which had signed a non-binding term sheet to invest, dropped the plan in Aug 2026 (Venture Intelligence, citing Business Line). We did not read company-registry or court records in this pass.

Why invest in Treebo Hotels?

- Treebo's own development page offers three commercial models: owner-run with Treebo's brand and distribution, Treebo-run management contracts, and a revenue share where Treebo runs everything (page read 31 Oct 2026). - We counted 848 hotel pages in Treebo's sitemap on 31 Oct 2026; the brand itself claims 1,000+ hotels, 17,000+ keys and 120+ cities. - Revenue from operations grew 22.5% to Rs 109 Cr in FY24 (Entrackr, from filed accounts), but the company still posted a Rs 28 Cr net loss.
