  1. Speak to at least 3 franchisees who have run an outlet for 2+ years and see their actual monthly sales and profit — a franchisor making money doesn't mean its franchisees do.
  2. Get a written, itemised cost breakdown — the brand hasn't published one.
  3. Ask for the one-time franchise fee in writing, and whether any part is refundable.

Company-operated vs franchise-operated salonsReported by ET Retail (article quoting the company), Mar 2025 Ā· The article says '25 locations' and also '50 outlets' and '60+ outlets' in its headline, so the base is unclear; the brand's site does not publish a franchised count.

Our Estimates

FranchiseChuno estimate

Bodycraft doesn't publish these, so here is our best read of the market and how we got there. They are our estimates, not the brand's figures — use them to plan, then confirm the real numbers in writing.

  • All-in cost of a 4,000+ sq ft clinic-salon

    ₹2–3.5 Cr*

Starts at the brand's own stated floor of ₹2 Cr. Assumes about 4,000–5,000 sq ft: interiors and fit-out at ₹2,500–3,500 a sq ft (₹1.0–1.6 Cr); clinic equipment such as lasers, body-contouring and injectable-room set-up ₹40–80 L; salon furniture, chairs and spa fixtures ₹15–25 L; high-street security deposit of 6 months at ₹100–150 a sq ft a month (₹25–40 L); opening stock and working capital ₹20–35 L. These add to roughly ₹2.0–3.4 Cr. Bodycraft has not confirmed any of these components. For comparison, ET Retail (Mar 2025) reported capex of ₹2–2.5 Cr for a 3,500–4,000 sq ft combined salon-clinic outlet, so the lower half of this range is the better-supported part.

About the Brand

Brand USP

Pairs salon and doctor-led skin and slimming clinic services in one outlet; says it began in 1997.

HeadquartersBengaluru (Koramangala)
Bodycraft is a Bengaluru chain that pairs a salon (hair, skin, nails, spa, bridal, men's grooming) with a doctor-led skin, hair and slimming clinic, often under one roof. It dates itself to 1997 and describes itself as India's first hybrid clinic-salon. Its locators list 38 salon-and-spa and 37 clinic entries (Oct 2026) in 38 locations, since every clinic entry sits in the same area as a salon entry (Mangaluru lists a salon only): 50 of the 75 entries are in Bengaluru, and the rest in Mysuru, Mangaluru, Mumbai (Chembur), Delhi (Dwarka), Gurgaon, Dehradun, Chennai, Hyderabad, Vellore, Lucknow, Kanpur and Varanasi. A Jun 2026 press report quoting the company says 67 outlets and a plan to add 30 after a ₹120 Cr investment from Singularity AMC. Its franchise page publishes only three terms: a minimum investment capital of ₹2 Cr, a space of 4,000 sq ft or more on a high street near women-focused brands, and a three-step process (explore, discovery day, application). It does not state a franchise fee, royalty, agreement term, territory, training length or expected returns, and it does not say which of its outlets are franchised. Press reports say it does have franchise-owned centres: ET Retail (Mar 2025) quoted the company as running 16 company-operated and 9 franchise-operated salons, with all clinics company-operated, and Ascendants (Jun 2026) describes a mix of company-run and franchise-run centres. ET Retail also reported capex of ₹2–2.5 Cr for a combined salon-clinic outlet of 3,500–4,000 sq ft. FranchiseChuno's estimate of the all-in cost is ₹2–3.5 Cr*, built from the stated floor, space and typical fit-out and equipment costs. What to watch: the franchisor's FY25 filing shows revenue of about ₹129.7 Cr and a profit of ₹4.6 Cr, but a 2026 article quoting the company calls ₹98 Cr its FY25 revenue; that figure matches the filing's implied FY24, and ET Retail quoted the same ₹98 Cr as the year to Mar 2024 in Mar 2025. A Bombay High Court arbitration application naming the company as respondent was listed in Aug 2026, and a May 2016 news report carries a customer's allegation about a failed hair-straightening treatment at its Indiranagar salon. The company's revenue and profit say nothing about what an outlet earns. Ask existing franchisees for outlet-level numbers, and ask for the franchise agreement, the royalty and the clinic licensing requirements before committing.

Why invest in Bodycraft?

- Bodycraft's franchise page states a ₹2 Cr minimum investment and 4,000 sq ft or more, on a high street (Oct 2026) - Its filing shows FY25 revenue of about ₹129.7 Cr (up 34%) and a profit of ₹4.6 Cr, with 11 registered charges (MCA via Tracxn) - Singularity AMC led a ₹120 Cr round in Jun 2026, and the company said it plans 30 more locations

A profitable franchisor doesn't mean profitable franchisees. These are the company's numbers, not an outlet's. A franchisor can grow on fees and supplies while outlets struggle — talk to existing franchisees and see their accounts before you decide.
