Who Should Invest at This Level

People ready to run the business full-time, or investors backing a manager. This budget opens up small shops, compact food outlets, tuition and coaching centres, salons and service outlets.

Financing This Investment

A Mudra Tarun loan covers above ₹5 lakh up to ₹10 lakh for eligible micro-enterprises (PIB, 2025). Banks and NBFCs also offer business term loans; they usually expect you to put in part of the cost yourself. CGTMSE, a government credit-guarantee scheme, lets lenders give micro and small enterprises loans without collateral — ask your bank whether your loan can be covered and on what terms.

What the Investment Usually Covers

Returns: What to Expect

Returns at this level depend on the brand, your rent and how you run it — we don't publish a "typical" figure. Use each listing's stated claims (labelled as the brand's claims), the category benchmarks built from brands whose terms we've checked, and above all the actual numbers existing franchisees give you. Watch the terms: ROI is yearly profit as a share of your total investment; a profit margin is profit as a share of sales; payback is the months until your cumulative profit equals what you put in; and operating break-even (the month the outlet stops losing money) is not payback.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about franchise investments under ₹10 lakh

Which franchises can I start with ₹10 lakh?
Filter this page by category to see brands whose listed investment is under ₹10 lakh. Check each listing for what the figure includes, what it leaves out, and whether the brand is currently accepting franchisees.
Should I lease or buy the premises?
Our view: lease. Buying property ties up far more money than the franchise itself and mixes a property bet with a business bet. Make sure the lease runs at least as long as your franchise agreement, or has a renewal option.
What costs do people forget to budget for?
GST on the fee and royalty, rent deposits, local marketing, staff hiring and training, software and delivery-app fees, licence renewals, equipment maintenance and a refurbishment the brand may require later. Ask the brand for a written list of every recurring charge.
Can I take a loan for the full amount?
Usually not. Lenders generally expect you to fund part of the project yourself, and they'll look at your credit history and the brand's track record. Ask each lender for its terms in writing and compare the total cost, including fees.
