  CNBC reported on 24 Dec 2025 that bp agreed to sell a 65% stake in its Castrol lubricants business to Stonepeak for about USD 6 bn, valuing Castrol at about USD 10.1 bn; bp keeps 35%, which it can sell after a two-year lock-up. Castrol India's annual report says the deal is expected to complete by the end of 2026, subject to approvals, and that day-to-day operations are unchanged.
