IndianOil SERVO Franchise

Automobile & EVEst. 1972IndianOil Bhavan, Bandra (East), Mumbai

SERVO stockist (distributor) of IndianOil lubricants, appointed only via area notices; 2023 notices: ₹121 L working capital as printed. None open now.

About This Listing

There is no 'Servo Auto Service' franchise. SERVO is IndianOil's lubricant brand, sold at IndianOil petrol pumps and through area-wise SERVO stockists (distributors) that IndianOil appoints only through location-specific notices. The latest we found were Servo Stockist–Reseller notices for Bundi/Tonk and for Kota, Rajasthan (applications closed 20 Oct 2023) and a May 2022 call for 'SERVO franchisees' to sell SERVO at named IndianOil petrol pumps in Haryana. We found no open notice in Oct 2026.

Disputes with SERVO stockists reach arbitration and court

IndianOil went to the Orissa High Court in 2021 to appoint an arbitrator in a dispute with an industrial SERVO stockist, a Rajasthan automotive SERVO stockist filed a writ petition against IndianOil in 2017, and a Patna automotive stockist's 2015 writ petition was withdrawn in 2023. Their subjects are not public, and the Orissa and Rajasthan outcomes were not found.

Key Terms at IndianOil SERVO

The clauses that shape day-to-day running and your exit — read these before the fee.

Territory
Each stockist serves a notified area of operation; IndianOil 'reserves the right to change' that territory at any time (2023 notices). IndianOil's FAQ says retailers are supplied by an area-specific sole SERVO stockist.
Non-compete
A selected applicant who is a stockist or distributor of a competing lubricant brand must resign it, with the resignation accepted, within three months of appointment (2023 notice).
Other terms
The godown can be moved only with the State Lube Head's approval, after one year of commissioning or for a statutory reason, and normally not from owned to leased premises (2023 notice).
Other terms
SERVO stockist agreements provide for arbitration: in 2021 the Orissa High Court appointed an arbitrator in a dispute under IndianOil's 2013 and 2016 agreements with an industrial SERVO stockist.

About the Brand

Brand USP

IndianOil's lubricant brand since 1972, which IndianOil said held over 27% of India's finished-lubricant market (2021).

Parent CompanyIndian Oil Corporation Ltd
HeadquartersIndianOil Bhavan, Bandra (East), Mumbai
SERVO is the lubricant and grease brand of Indian Oil Corporation (IndianOil), the listed state-owned oil company, launched in 1972. Engine oils, gear oils, greases and industrial lubricants are blended at IndianOil plants and sold at IndianOil petrol pumps, spare-parts and bazaar shops, and to industry. In 2021 IndianOil put SERVO's turnover at nearly ₹8,000 Cr with over 27% of India's finished-lubricant market. There is no 'Servo Auto Service' franchise; IndianOil earlier promoted SERVO at select petrol pumps with quick oil-change machines and dedicated SERVO staff. The ways to partner are distributorships. IndianOil appoints a sole SERVO stockist per area (automotive, industrial, reseller and agri types) through location-specific notices: its 2023 Servo Stockist–Reseller notices for Bundi/Tonk and for Kota, Rajasthan each asked for minimum working capital of ₹121 lakh (as printed in IndianOil's notice), at least 60% from own funds, a godown owned or leased for 4+ years in the territory, a delivery vehicle of 1–2 tonnes under two years old, at least three sales staff on the stockist's own payroll and a ₹10,000 application fee. A May 2022 notice invited 'SERVO franchisees' to sell SERVO at named IndianOil petrol pumps in Haryana, with ₹2 lakh working capital and a year's lubricant-selling experience. Margins, deposits and contract terms are not published. What to watch: selection is by competitive application for a named area, not on request, and we found no notice open in Oct 2026. IndianOil reserves the right to change the advertised territory at any time, and a stockist of a competing brand must give it up within three months of appointment. Stockist disputes do reach arbitration and court (e.g. an Orissa High Court arbitration with an industrial SERVO stockist, 2021). Figures for IndianOil as a whole say nothing about what a stockist earns — check margins and credit terms with existing stockists.

Why invest in IndianOil SERVO?

A profitable franchisor doesn't mean profitable franchisees. These are the company's numbers, not an outlet's. A franchisor can grow on fees and supplies while outlets struggle — talk to existing franchisees and see their accounts before you decide.
