Customs show-cause notice over e-scooter imports (alleged)
A Principal Commissioner of Customs (Delhi) notice dated 29 Jul 2026 alleges Zelio misclassified completely-knocked-down e-scooters imported in FY22 and FY23 and questions the IGST concession claimed; it proposes about ₹6.72 Cr of differential duty plus interest and penalty and asks why the goods should not be confiscated. Zelio says the imports were bona fide and plans to reply within 30 days; nothing has been decided. Zelio says the notice was emailed on 30 Jul 2026 but landed in a spam folder, so it was reviewed and disclosed to BSE on 3 Aug 2026.
