Goa Ayurvedic council complaint against the Porvorim hospital

In May 2026 the Goa Council of Ayurvedic and Other Allied Indian Systems of Medicine filed a complaint with the North Goa SP, collector and health department against a 30-bed Ayurveda hospital and panchakarma centre at Porvorim. The council alleged that inspectors found doctors not registered in Goa, medicines dispensed without a pharmacy licence and no clinical-establishment licence or fire NOC, and sought suspension until permits were obtained. Goa News Hub named it as the Jeena Sikho hospital and reported it was told to shut until permits were obtained; the company's locator still listed its 30-bed Goa hospital in Sep 2026.

About the Brand

Brand USP

Ayurveda and naturopathy treatment through a hub-and-spoke network of company-run hospitals and clinics, with medicines supplied only by the company.

Shuddhi Ayurveda is the Ayurveda clinic, hospital and product brand of Jeena Sikho Lifecare Limited (JSLL) of Zirakpur, Punjab. It was founded by Manish Grover, known as Acharya Manish Ji, who is JSLL's Managing Director. JSLL has been listed on NSE since April 2022 and moved to the NSE and BSE main boards in August 2025. Its May 2026 investor presentation shows 61 hospitals and 58 clinics and day-care centres across 23 states and 100+ cities, with about 2,300 operational beds. Management reported FY26 revenue of ₹801 Cr and profit after tax of ₹222 Cr, and says it has no debt. Shuddhi is not signing new franchisees. On its February 2026 earnings call, the Managing Director said the company is not focused on franchises and is slowly reducing them in favour of its own centres. The number of franchise centres has fallen from 80 in the FY23 annual report to 33 of 119 facilities in May 2026. The remaining franchises are clinics and day-care centres only; every hospital is company-owned. At these centres the franchisee pays the set-up and running costs, while the doctors and medical staff are on JSLL's payroll and JSLL is the only medicine supplier. Shuddhi publishes no franchise investment, fee, royalty or agreement terms. Be cautious of anyone offering a new Shuddhi franchise: in July 2026 the Delhi High Court ordered AI-faked videos of the founder endorsing products taken down, and the brand's website warns that it runs no lottery schemes. The parent is also defending a pending trademark suit by Himalaya over 'LIV'-branded products, including 'Live Shuddhi'.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I still get a Shuddhi Ayurveda franchise?
No new franchises are being offered. On the February 2026 earnings call, Jeena Sikho Lifecare's Managing Director said the company is not focused on franchises and has been slowly reducing them for three years in favour of its own centres.
How do the remaining franchise clinics work?
Per the May 2026 investor deck, the franchisee funds set-up and running costs other than doctor payroll; the Ayurveda doctors and medical staff are on Jeena Sikho Lifecare's payroll, and medicines are supplied exclusively by the company.
How many franchise centres are left?
33 of 119 facilities in the May 2026 investor deck (35 of 117 on the June 2026 earnings call), down from 80 franchises in the FY23 annual report. All hospitals are company-owned.
Are online offers using Acharya Manish's face genuine?
Be careful. In July 2026 the Delhi High Court granted the founder and Jeena Sikho Lifecare interim protection against AI-cloned videos falsely showing him endorsing products and ordered them taken down.
Is the parent company financially sound?
Management reported FY26 revenue of ₹801 Cr and profit after tax of ₹222 Cr and says it has no debt; company filings show two registered charges securing about ₹1.3 Cr (charges, not balance-sheet debt) in total.
