Ask before you sign

  1. Speak to at least 3 franchisees who have run an outlet for 2+ years and see their actual monthly sales and profit — a franchisor making money doesn't mean its franchisees do.
  2. Ask for every upfront payment in writing — deposit, onboarding, equipment or stock — and which parts are refundable.
  3. Ask exactly how your margin or commission is calculated, when it's paid, and whether the brand can change it.

About the Brand

Brand USP

A Hyderabad maker of tea and coffee vending machines and premixes, founded in 1999, whose dealers place machines in workplaces and earn on repeat premix supplies.

HeadquartersSecunderabad, Hyderabad, Telangana
Cafe Desire is a Hyderabad brand of tea and coffee vending machines and instant premixes (coffee, tea, soups, malt and other drinks) sold to offices, factories, hospitals, schools and shops. It is owned by Radiant Consumer Appliances Pvt Ltd of Secunderabad; founder and managing director Ghouse Mohiuddin says he started the brand in 1999. There are no consumer outlets: partners place machines at customers' workplaces and keep them supplied with premixes. Filings show Radiant had revenue of ₹39.9 Cr and a net profit of ₹1.35 Cr in FY25, and about 120 employees in Aug 2025. The current offer is a dealership, which the brand itself describes as "a dealership opportunity, not a franchise". Its Smart Dealer Plan costs ₹1 L: a ₹10,000 one-time fee, which it says is credited back as ₹2,000 a year of loyalty credits over five years, plus ₹90,000 of opening stock and set-up. Dealers earn on machine sales, premix supplies and repeat orders; the brand does not publish the dealer margin, prices, sales targets, contract term or territory rights, and says territory is discussed during approval. No shop is needed: it says many dealers start from home, a small office or a warehouse. It claims 500+ active dealers but publishes no dealer list; an older company page spoke of 200+ franchisees. What to watch: the online store that carries the dealership page names MSR Enterprises of Secunderabad as its operator in the footer. GST records show MSR Enterprises is a partnership firm (registered for GST in Jul 2017, wholesale and retail trade), while the same store's privacy policy gives Radiant's registered office and a Radiant email address; the firm's partners and its link to Radiant are not published, so confirm which entity signs the dealer agreement and supplies stock. Radiant's trademark applications for coffee, tea and premixes (classes 29 and 30) are opposed; its marks for machines, trading and servicing are registered. Radiant's revenue fell 20% in FY24 (₹44.1 Cr to ₹35.5 Cr) before recovering to ₹39.9 Cr in FY25, and net profit slipped 20% in FY25. On a legal Q&A forum in Jun 2021, a person who said they took a Cafe Desire franchise in Mangalore in Jun 2013 alleged that the company had not refunded their ₹50,000 "refundable deposit" after the outlet closed in Feb 2014; that is one unverified account, and it concerns the older franchise model rather than today's dealer plan. Employees rate it 2.9/5 on AmbitionBox (11 reviews). In Jun and Jul 2025 the Telangana High Court set aside unsigned state GST notices and orders, and any linked bank attachments, in batch writ petitions led by the company, leaving the tax department free to issue them afresh; the outcome of any fresh proceedings is not known. The owner's profits say nothing about what a dealer earns, so check margins and repeat-order volumes with existing dealers before paying.

Why invest in Cafe Desire?

- Cafe Desire publishes its dealer entry cost: ₹1 L, of which ₹90,000 is opening stock and set-up and ₹10,000 the dealership fee. - Filings show the brand owner, Radiant Consumer Appliances, reported a net profit every year from FY19 to FY25 (₹1.35 Cr in FY25). - Radiant holds 'Cafe Desire' trademarks registered in classes 9, 35, 37 and 43 (machines, trading, servicing, cafés), filed in 2014; its coffee and tea (class 29/30) applications are opposed.
