Ask before you sign

  1. Speak to at least 3 franchisees who have run an outlet for 2+ years and see their actual monthly sales and profit — a franchisor making money doesn't mean its franchisees do.
  2. Get a written, itemised cost breakdown — the brand hasn't published one.
  3. Ask for every upfront payment in writing — deposit, onboarding, equipment or stock — and which parts are refundable.

Our Estimates

FranchiseChuno estimate

Angel One doesn't publish these, so here is our best read of the market and how we got there. They are our estimates, not the brand's figures — use them to plan, then confirm the real numbers in writing.

  • All-in cost to start as an Angel One AP

    ₹50,000–₹2 L*

Angel One publishes no figure. The biggest item is the refundable deposit with the broker: an earlier, now-hidden version of Angel One's own eligibility page put the minimum at ₹50,000. On top of that, a small office needs one or two computers and a broadband line (about ₹40,000–80,000), basic furniture and, if rented, a few months' rent deposit; client-facing staff need NISM certification (a few thousand rupees per exam). A home-based AP with one computer sits near ₹50,000; a small rented office with a certified assistant reaches about ₹2 L. Angel One's AP landing page advertises "zero office expense", which fits a home-based start at the low end; its eligibility page and SEBI's rules still expect office space, equipment and certified staff.

About the Brand

Brand USP

A listed, digital-first broker that lets partners build a broking client base under its brand and keep up to 70% of the brokerage.

HeadquartersMumbai, Maharashtra
Angel One Limited (formerly Angel Broking) is a Mumbai-based stockbroker that is listed on the stock exchange. It began in 1996 as a traditional broking firm and started its digital journey in 2019. It reports more than 3.5 crore registered clients. It does not sell conventional franchises. Instead, its partner model is the Authorised Person (AP), formerly called a sub-broker. An AP brings in and services clients under the Angel One brand and earns a share of the brokerage those clients generate. Angel One says it has 10,000+ registered APs; an NSE order recorded 22,293 APs registered with it in June 2023. Angel One says APs can earn up to 70% of the brokerage generated by their clients, plus campaign incentives for new clients. Its AP landing page also advertises earnings of "up to 6 figures per month" and "zero office expense" without giving any basis, while its eligibility page says an AP needs capital for an office, staff, computers and furniture. Angel One does not publish a set-up cost: it says minimal regulatory or operational costs may apply, with details shared during onboarding, and its eligibility page mentions a refundable deposit with the broker without stating an amount. Angel One asks for 10+2 (HSC) education or at least two years' experience as an employee or dealer in the capital market. Partners get the NXT partner platform, a relationship manager, research and training, and a loyalty programme from Silver to Elite. APs can offer equities and F&O, mutual funds, fixed deposits, insurance, bonds, NPS and loans against securities. This is a regulated role. Under SEBI rules, the stock exchange must approve each AP on the broker's application. An AP may be paid only by the broker and cannot charge clients or take client money or securities into its own account. Because Angel One publishes no set-up cost, the ₹50,000–₹2 L range shown here is an estimate. Regulators have repeatedly acted over how Angel One runs its broking business and supervises its APs: SEBI fined it ₹10 L in April 2023 after an inspection of its broking operations and warned it in August 2023 over clients introduced through a sub-broker; NSE fined it ₹1.67 Cr and paused new AP onboarding for six months in July 2023; SEBI fined it ₹6 L in November 2024 after an inspection that included lapses in AP oversight, and ₹3 L in November 2025 over AP supervision; and in June 2026 it paid ₹4.28 Cr to settle SEBI proceedings over two APs. Filings show FY26 revenue of ₹5,152 Cr, down 2%, and net profit of ₹915 Cr, down 22%. These are the broker's own results and say nothing about what an AP earns; ask existing APs for their real payouts.

Why invest in Angel One?

- Angel One says APs earn up to 70% of the brokerage generated by their clients - Listed broker with FY26 revenue of ₹5,152 Cr and net profit of ₹915 Cr, down 22% on FY25 (company filings) - APs can offer stocks, F&O, mutual funds, FDs, insurance, bonds and NPS from one partner platform (NXT)

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the total investment for a Angel One franchise?
An estimated ₹0.5 lakh–₹2 lakh. Estimate — Angel One does not publish a set-up cost; it says only that minimal regulatory or operational costs may apply and are shared during onboarding.
What training does Angel One provide?
Training on Angel One's applications and software, product training, regular research updates and advisory content.
Is there a fee or deposit to become an Angel One Authorised Person?
Angel One does not publish one. Its partner FAQ says "minimal regulatory or operational costs may apply", with details given during onboarding, and its eligibility page says you need capital for a refundable deposit with the broker, without stating the amount. Ask for the deposit amount, and the conditions for getting it back, in writing before you sign.
Can an Authorised Person charge clients a fee?
No. Under SEBI's rules an AP can be paid only by its stock broker — through fees, charges, commission or salary — and must not charge clients anything. It also must not receive or pay money or securities in its own name or account; all client funds and securities move through the broker.
Can I be an Authorised Person with Angel One and another broker at once?
Not on the same stock exchange: a person can be an AP of only one broker per exchange. To switch brokers you cancel your approval with Angel One and apply afresh with the new broker; NSE allows both applications to be filed together so business is not interrupted.
Can a company, LLP or HUF become an Angel One Authorised Person?
NSE allows resident individuals, registered partnership firms, LLPs and companies to be APs, but not HUFs. Angel One additionally asks for 10+2 (HSC) education or at least two years' experience as an employee or dealer in the capital market.
How are disputes between Angel One and its Authorised Person resolved?
NSE says its arbitration mechanism is available for disputes between a stock broker and its AP, and for client complaints in which the AP can be made a party.
