  • Senco sales through an average franchise showroom

    About ₹2.5–3 Cr a month*

Senco says franchise showrooms contribute about a third (31–35%) of revenue. 31–35% of FY26 consolidated revenue of ₹8,430 Cr is ₹2,610–2,950 Cr, spread over about 80 franchise showrooms on average during FY26 (76 in Jun 2025, 85 in Mar 2026), or roughly ₹33–37 Cr a year per showroom. This is Senco's revenue through the channel, not the franchisee's profit.

About the Brand

Brand USP

A listed Kolkata jeweller whose 89 franchise showrooms, nearly all in tier-2 to tier-4 towns, bring in about a third of its revenue.

Franchising Since2000
HeadquartersKolkata, West Bengal
Senco Gold & Diamonds is a Kolkata jewellery retailer whose roots go back to a Dhaka jewellery business started in 1938. Senco Gold Ltd was incorporated in 1994 and listed on NSE and BSE in July 2023. Its Q1 FY27 investor presentation counts 209 showrooms at 30 Jun 2026: 120 company-run (including 13 Sennes fashion-jewellery stores and 2 in Dubai) and 89 franchised. More than half are in West Bengal (109), and 88 of the 89 franchise showrooms are in tier-2 to tier-4 towns. Its own showroom list had 199 entries when we counted in Oct 2026. Consolidated revenue was ₹8,430 Cr in FY26 with a profit of ₹574 Cr. Senco franchises in two formats: franchisee-owned, franchisee-operated (78 stores in India) and franchisee-owned, company-operated (11), where Senco reimburses staff salaries, marketing, discounts and electricity. In both, the presentation says, the franchisee invests the store capex (about ₹1.5 Cr+) and the working capital for stock (₹15 Cr+). Senco charges a one-time signing fee and an annual support fee for marketing and ERP but publishes neither; company-wide, franchisee fees came to ₹13.4 Cr in FY26, up from ₹9.7 Cr in FY25. Senco's own figures don't agree on the entry ticket: the presentation implies about ₹16.5 Cr or more per store, while its franchise enquiry form asks applicants for an investment capacity starting at ₹5–10 Cr. It doesn't say what a ₹5–10 Cr store would look like, so treat ₹16.5 Cr+ as the planning figure and get the expected stock level for your town in writing. Senco publishes no margin, payback, term or territory. What to watch: almost all of the ₹16.5 Cr+ is gold stock, so the partner carries the gold-price risk and the financing cost. Senco's own profit swings with gold prices: its FY25 profit fell to ₹159 Cr after a customs duty cut forced a one-off stock write-down. Disputes go to arbitration under the franchise agreement; in 2020 Senco asked the Calcutta High Court to appoint an arbitrator in a dispute with a franchisee under a 2013 agreement. Get the signing fee, support fee, stock terms and exit clauses in writing, and talk to existing franchisees about real sales and margins before committing.

Why invest in Senco Gold and Diamonds?

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the total investment for a Senco Gold and Diamonds franchise?
Senco Gold and Diamonds states an investment of ₹1650 lakh. Two official figures that don't match. Senco's Q1 FY27 investor presentation (Aug 2026) says that in both its franchise formats the franchisee invests the store capex ('say Rs 1.5 cr+') and the working capital for inventory ('Rs 15 Cr +') — about ₹16.5 Cr or more, which we use as the headline. Its franchise enquiry form, however, asks for investment capacity in bands starting at ₹5–10 Cr. Senco doesn't explain the gap: a smaller store with less stock may be possible, but no smaller format or lower stock level is published. On top of either figure Senco charges a one-time signing fee and an annual support fee, neither published.
