Its site says it has 400+ centres, 50,000+ students and 22 states in India, and presence in 4+ countries; we have not independently counted the centres, because its locator is loaded by script. On its franchise page Makoons states a total investment of Rs 12-25 lakh for a preschool set-up, at least 1,500 sq ft built-up area with about 500 sq ft of play area, no royalty, a 30-45 day set-up after signing and a break-even of 12-18 months. It says the investment covers the franchise fee, interiors, curriculum kit, staff training, branding and pre-launch marketing, and says rent, security deposit and monthly operating costs are additional; it does not itemise the franchise fee and does not publish an agreement term or a territory policy. The 12-18 month break-even and the 'keep 100% of earnings' claim are the brand's own and have no sample outlet accounts behind them. What to check: we found no public revenue or audited financials for the company, so the 400-centre claim cannot be tested against accounts. In 2023 a Delhi commercial court partly decreed a suit by KRS Educreations against a former Eastern UP master franchisee for continuing to use the Makoons name and domain after termination, and Makoons itself warns that former affiliates still operate under its name in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.
