Shemford lost a cheque case over a franchise fee for a school that never opened
A Rohini court in July 2025 acquitted the trust behind a planned Shemford senior school in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, finding its ₹6.74 L cheque was an advance on a ₹23.6 L 'Principal Management Fee' for a school that was never set up, not a debt owed.

In Dec 2024 and Jan 2025 a Delhi commercial court ordered two ex-franchisees (Barnala and Rishikesh), terminated in 2017 for unpaid royalty, to stop using the name and pay ₹6 L damages each.
