- Not published
ABLBL publishes no franchise terms. A court record describes a 2011 Allen Solly franchise run under an agency agreement, with the franchisee acting as commission agent. Outside India, the Dubai store (1,830 sq ft, Jun 2025) was opened with franchise partner Kalyan Silks.
Our Estimates

Set-up cost of an Allen Solly franchise store
₹50–75 L*
ABLBL's 259 company-run Allen Solly stores average about 1,625 sq ft, so we assume a franchise store of 1,000–1,600 sq ft. A 2026 Indian fit-out cost guide (Sparrow PMC) puts standard branded retail at ₹2,500–4,500 per sq ft, excluding GST, rent, deposits and stock; we use ₹2,500–4,000 per sq ft for fit-out, fixtures, lighting and IT, plus ₹5–10 L of opening and working-capital costs, which gives roughly ₹30–75 L before GST. Under the 2011 Allen Solly agreement on court record the franchisee paid for the interiors and stock came from the company on a commission (agency) basis; if the partner must buy stock, add ₹15–30 L. Lower end raised to ABLBL's published ₹50 L starting figure for a 1,000 sq ft store (Oct 2026).

What a franchise partner keeps on sales
About 15–22% of net sales, as commission*
ABLBL publishes no commission. The only real figure on record is 17% of net sales, paid in monthly slabs under a 2011 Planet Fashion (sister Madura brand) agency agreement described in an NCLAT judgment; the company says those slabs were later revised downward. We therefore use 15–22% as a planning range, out of which the partner pays rent, staff and electricity. Get the actual figure and slabs in writing.

Key Terms at Allen Solly
The clauses that shape day-to-day running and your exit — read these before the fee.
- Stock & returns
- In a 2011 Allen Solly franchise described in an NCLAT judgment, the franchisee ran the showroom as 'franchisee and commission agent' under an agency agreement and sent the stock back to the company when the store closed. ABLBL does not publish whether current agreements work the same way.
- Who pays for what
- Under the 2011 Allen Solly agency agreement described by NCLAT, the franchisee paid for the store interiors, and any later renovation, at its own cost to the company's specification. The agreement wrote the interiors down by 20% a year, and ownership of them passed to the company at the end of the fifth year. ABLBL does not publish whether current agreements work the same way.
- Payments to the brand
- Under the same franchisee's 2011 Planet Fashion agreement (a sister Madura brand), the company paid a commission of 17% of net sales in monthly slabs. The company says the slabs were later revised downward at a 2012 meeting; the franchisee denied that meeting took place, and the tribunal treated it as a dispute for another forum.
