Chai Point Targets Stock Market Listing by May 2026
Chai Point co-founder Tarun Khanna says the chai-retail chain is aiming for a stock market listing by May 2026, though it still has no individual franchise program in India.

The chain is run by Mountain Trail Foods Private Limited, which currently operates 170 outlets, split between 60 seated cafes and 110 walk-in kiosks, and is targeting 300 more over the next two years.

Not a franchise, not yet
We list Chai Point for reference, not investment.
Chai Point has no individual franchise program in India, and an IPO doesn't change that on its own. Every one of its 170 outlets is company-operated, which means the "franchise" search that leads someone to this brand's page should end here rather than at an application form. The company says it sells over 9 lakh cups of brewed tea and is already EBITDA positive, with a target of turning cash-flow positive before tax within the next few months, numbers that explain why a founder would talk about a listing now rather than waiting for a bigger balance sheet. An IPO would make Chai Point one of the first organized chai-retail chains to go public in India, ahead of larger, better-funded café rivals that have stayed private, and whether going public changes its stance on franchising is not yet public information.
