Kidzee vs EuroKids Franchise Cost: ₹15–16 Lakh or ₹15–20 Lakh, and What the Filing Shows
Kidzee asks ₹15–16 lakh and 2,000–3,000 sq ft; EuroKids ₹15–20 lakh and 1,500 sq ft. Neither publishes a royalty, but Zee Learn's FY25 annual report shows 77% of its revenue is goods sold to centres.
A Kidzee franchise needs ₹15 to 16 lakh and 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft, and a EuroKids franchise needs ₹15 to 20 lakh and a minimum of 1,500 sq ft. Both are the brands' own figures, and both are stated as depending on city and centre size. Kidzee says it can be open in about 45 days, EuroKids in 45 to 60. So the cheaper-looking entry is Kidzee's, but the smaller building is EuroKids's, and neither brand publishes a royalty, a franchise fee or any return figure.
That silence is the real story, because it leaves you comparing two numbers that cover different things. One of the two parent companies has a public annual report, though, and it shows how Kidzee actually earns money from its centres.
Side by side: what each brand publishes
| Kidzee | EuroKids | |
|---|---|---|
| Investment | ₹15–16 lakh | ₹15–20 lakh |
| Space | 2,000–3,000 sq ft, ideally ground floor with outdoor play area | Minimum 1,500 sq ft, ground or first floor, residential or semi-residential area |
| Time to open | About 45 days (sign-up around day 22) | 45–60 days |
| Royalty / franchise fee | Not published | Not published |
| Return or payback | Not published | Not published, "depends on location, property size and enrolment" |
| Education experience | Not required | Not required |
| Territory | Not stated | Defined territory per partner |
| Network claimed | 2,500+ centres, 600+ cities, India and Nepal | 2,000+ preschools, 550+ locations, three countries |
Both investment lines are described by the brands as covering setup, training or materials and initial support. Neither page says whether rent, the security deposit or working capital for the first months is inside the figure, so budget for those separately until a signed agreement says otherwise.
The per-square-foot trap
The headline numbers look alike, so it is tempting to call it a tie. Divide them by space and it stops being one. On our arithmetic, Kidzee's range works out to roughly ₹500 to ₹800 per sq ft (₹15 lakh over 3,000 sq ft to ₹16 lakh over 2,000). EuroKids at its 1,500 sq ft minimum works out to ₹1,000 to ₹1,333 per sq ft. These are not like-for-like, since neither brand says the investment scales with area, but the gap tells you something practical: a 1,500 sq ft EuroKids centre and a 3,000 sq ft Kidzee centre cost about the same to fit out on paper, while the Kidzee building costs you double the rent.
What Zee Learn's FY25 annual report says about Kidzee's model
Zee Learn Limited, which runs Kidzee, is listed, so its FY25 annual report is public. It confirms the structure: the Kidzee business partner invests in infrastructure and pays a one-time franchise fee, and in return receives a set-up kit with branding and furniture, curriculum, child kits, teacher training and operational guidance. Then the revenue note shows where the company's money comes from.
| Zee Learn revenue line, FY25 | ₹ lakh | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Sales of educational goods and equipment | 21,088 | 77% |
| Course fees and royalty | 4,298 | 16% |
| Franchisee fees | 1,862 | 7% |
| Other services and operating revenue | 136 | under 1% |
| Total revenue from operations | 27,384 | 100% |
Three things follow. A royalty income line exists, even though the franchise page never mentions one. Franchisee fees rose about 24%, from ₹1,506 lakh to ₹1,862 lakh, which fits the report's statement that more franchise schools were signed. And more than three-quarters of the company's revenue is goods sold, which in a preschool network means kits, books and materials. For an owner, that points to a recurring cost you should price before signing: how often you must buy materials from the franchisor, and at what margin.
Note the limits. This is the company-wide revenue note, not a per-centre figure, and it tells you nothing about what a centre earns.
The red flags in the same filing
The auditors' report in that annual report gives a qualified opinion on the consolidated accounts and draws attention to a material uncertainty about going concern. The auditors cite lenders invoking corporate guarantees, insolvency proceedings begun by two lenders against the company and a subsidiary, a payable of ₹63,436 lakh under a supplemental agreement with an asset reconstruction company, and current liabilities above current assets. The company says it expects to settle through asset monetisation, and the auditors did not modify their opinion on the going-concern basis. These liabilities relate to guarantees given for group loans, not to the preschool operations, but a franchisee depends on the franchisor for curriculum, kits and training for years, so read the filing before you rely on the brand.
Also note the network counts. Kidzee's own page claims 2,500+ centres; the annual report says over 2,200 preschools. The two may reflect different dates, and the filing does not explain the gap.
Where EuroKids is harder to check
EuroKids is run by Lighthouse Learning, a private company controlled by the investment firm KKR, so there is no equivalent public annual report with a franchise-income breakdown that we could verify. Revenue figures for it circulate in the press and differ from one report to another, so we are not quoting one. The practical effect is that Kidzee's franchisor can be examined line by line, with its problems in view, while EuroKids's can be examined only through what it chooses to say. Neither is a reason to rule a brand out. Both are reasons to ask each for the royalty, the supply terms and the agreement length in writing.
Questions franchisees ask
Which is cheaper, Kidzee or EuroKids? On published minimums they start at the same ₹15 lakh. Kidzee tops out at ₹16 lakh and EuroKids at ₹20 lakh, but Kidzee asks for more floor space.
Do I need teaching experience? Neither brand requires it.
Is the royalty published? Not for either brand. Zee Learn's accounts record royalty income, so ask for the rate and the material-purchase terms before you sign.
Both profiles carry the terms as checked against each brand's own franchise page on 26 September 2026. When you have shortlisted one, open its page to compare the full terms and send an enquiry through FranchiseChuno: Kidzee or EuroKids.
